Green Light for Licence
We are delighted to announce that our application for a Premises Licence was granted at a recent County Council’s Licencing hearing.
The granting of the licence will allow us to sell our beers to the general public and enable us to showcase our ales to a wider audience.
Our plan is to open on just 2 days a week (Friday & Saturday) 12:30pm for the sale of our bottled beers to be taken for consumption off the premises.
In due course we will also be opening a small Tap Room to which enable customers to sample our ales in draught form. Again this will only be open twice a week for a few hours early evening. Full details to be announced in due course.
Our target customer is primarily the tourist trade passing between Bowes Museum and the town centre, together with local real ale connoisseurs looking to enjoy freshly brewed cask beer in a relaxed environment. We are delighted to be able to bring something new to Barnard Castle and really believe this will be an asset to the town.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not open to the public just yet as we are currently in the process of completing some premises work prior to opening. However, we will be publishing the full details of our opening hours on our website in due course.
Rise of the Phoenix
Like a Phoenix from the flames the Barnard Castle Brewing Co. resumes normal service.
After a number of production problems during the long, hot summer of 2018 it's back to brewing business as usual for BCBCo. And to celebrate our return to brewing our Head Brewer Kevin has produced a special smoked red ale, imaginatively titled Phoenix.
Kev reckons it has "deliciously complex malt and roast flavours combining with subtle smoky notes and refreshing hints of hop bitterness in this intriguingly moreish brew"
